One of the main reasons I make my own dog food is to save money. It takes very little time plus my dog loves it!

Normal dog food costs a fortune & you have no idea what type of ingredients they put in there.

Ingredients

  • 1kg pet mince ($2) defrosted
  • 1 kg cheap diced frozen veggies ($1.90)
  • 400g brown rice or pasta ($0.55-$1)
  • 2 tbs beef stock paste ($0.30)
  • 1 litre water

  1. Put your mince in your varoma tray & break it up a bit with your spatula then add your frozen veggies around it.
  2. Place rice into your simmering basket.
  3. Place beef stock paste into water then add simmering basket with rice into your tm bowl. Place varoma into position & cook for 40 minutes varoma temperature speed 4.
  4. Once cooked mix all together in the varoma dish. Divide into containers and pour beef stock liquid over dog food. Place cooled containers in the fridge or freezer until required.

If using pasta

Add 1.2 litres of water & stock into your bowl cook mince & veggies for 30 minutes varoma temperature speed 1. Add pasta cooking for a further 10 minutes speed 1 reverse. Mix & dish into containers.
